December 11, 200124 yr Is there any way of setting up web companion to let me take a PC with a filemaker database running on it, off the network and still view it using the Pc's IP address through the browser? (I know it sounds a bit weird but I need to show the web view of the database to a customer and there will be no network avalible) Please help Thanks Chris Brown
December 11, 200124 yr Try: http://localhost/ This works with Personal Web Server or IIS. Place your web page(s) in the InetPub/wwwroot directory. This is how I do all of my Lasso/FileMaker development. Tom Parker [email protected]
December 12, 200124 yr http://localhost is correct if WC is on port 80. Or http://localhost:591 if it is on port 591. All your pages must be in FileMaker -> web -- folder, so WC can serve that. You do not need any of the Microsoft servers and do not try to put files in their directories, because FM WC will not see them. On the other hand, it doesn't matter where are databases located, just open them.
