Genx Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Hi Guys, Just trying to bind a small db to runtime: Front End (ref's backend) Back End (ref's front end) ... The run time binds, but my references fail -- i.e. i get File Missing. The references are just: file:myBackend.fp7 (in the front end) and file:myFrontEnd.fp7 (in the back end). I've tried choosing .fp7 as the extension with noo luck.. Please help.
Inky Phil Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Hi Genx When you call the files in to act upon them is the correct file nominated as the main file? Phil
Genx Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 I certainly hope so - Yeh it's the Front End.
Genx Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 This should work though right, I mean, I'm guessing multi-file solutions are nothing new to runtimes soo....? Anyone else have any more idea's here? I added both files to the solution and have tried to use all 3 of the following filereferences to the backend, in the front end file: file:myBackend file:myBackend.fp7 file:myBackend.USR I've tried publishing using both the USR and fp7 extensions...
IdealData Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Most odd. Genx, I know you know your stuff but have really checked all the file references (in all files) - watch out for typos etc, maybe you have a rogue file ref. Are the file names valid? (in terms of characters in the filenames). Did all the files specified in the binding process end up in the solution folder?
Inky Phil Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 It deffo works Genx. I do it all the time. As ideal data said, are both the front and back .usr files ending up in your target folder? can you zip an empty copy and I will try it at my end? Phil
IdealData Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Watch out for TRAILING spaces on file names.
Genx Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 Yeh well, i think i know what it might possibly be... I happened to make a large mistake at the begining of this solution by putting a dot in my file name e.g. my Backend 1.0.fp7 Even though the file references are accepted in FM and i managed to get around various issues, well, i think it may possibly be causing this problem so i'll have a play. As for the actual files, they all end up where they should so i don't think that ones the issue. Thanks for the help so far guys.
