DAVE/ Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Hi I have a 44 kb file on the mac side. I used the developer utility to make a runtime version and it says it is 70.4m Is this normal? It seems awfully big to me. Thanks Dave
Genx Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 (edited) Yes it is normal -- The reason being about 70.936 of those mb are the files required for the runtime to operate.. Edited February 17, 2007 by Guest
SteveB Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 I think you can safely remove the language dictionaries that will never be used...it should reduce the runtime's size. Steve
After Hours Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Someone's math is a bit off on the 'required' files, but the point is valid. Move all of the dictionaries except the usenglish.mpr out of the Dictionaries folder in the runtime folder stuff. You might want to hold on to the other files, so just drag them into another folder, such as the 'English extras' one. This should cut out almost 10 Mb out. Our examples are runtime-only, so we typically see a simple one start at about 38Mb (that includes a 900Kb db file), and will usually compress down to a little over 11Mb with Stuffit.
