dimension Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I keep getting an annoying dialog box on entry of a field (defined as check-boxes); The only way to stop this is delete the field and start-over again, re-defining the list values... Frank.
Lee Smith Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 (edited) That dialog box is telling your entry doesn't match the Field Type. Example: A date field will not accept an entry that doesn't conform to the system preferences (i.e. xx/xx/xxxx or x/x/xxxx or xxxx/x/x etc.) HTH Lee Edited February 20, 2007 by Guest system
dimension Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Hi Lee, my field is , my list is, well, er, text... Deleting and recreating the field seems to clear the problem - but NOT with the exact same (pasted) values?! Square Circle Triangle The above list may give me the error dialog; Cube Sphere Pyramid ...clears the 'fault' Is this a known bug? It's really, really annoying! Frank.
Raybaudi Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Hi try to check the validation options of that field.
Lee Smith Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Wow, with this description it could be a couple of things. Did you try reindexing the field? If not, turn off indexing in the options, click okay back to the main Define Fields window, and then go back in and turn indexing back on. This may correct the problem. Otherwise, your file might have some corruption. Lee
