Newbies Greg Olson-Hyde Posted March 2, 2007 Newbies Posted March 2, 2007 I can import from my camera into FMP but each photo creates a new record. I would like to import all the photos on the camera into all the fields in one record. Is this possible, or do I have to import then manipulate the many records into one? Cheers, Greg
mr_vodka Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 (edited) Why do you want them in one record? You would be limiting yourself. Edited March 3, 2007 by Guest
Newbies Greg Olson-Hyde Posted March 3, 2007 Author Newbies Posted March 3, 2007 For this project, having them all in one record produces the best results.
mr_vodka Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Still doesnt make too much sense to me because I think that if you made it a related table then you can import all the pictures into that table and have them all display through a portal on one parent page.
Newbies Greg Olson-Hyde Posted March 3, 2007 Author Newbies Posted March 3, 2007 Yes that would be possible but I want to display the photos like a contact sheet with about five or six thumbnails per row and about three rows - can that be done with portals?
Fenton Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Yes, it can (and should) be done with portals. There was recently added an excellent little example file by Genx, PhotoManagement, in the Sample Files section of fmforums. http://www.fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/184840/post/241863/hl//
Stuart Taylor Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Just as a note. Genx is great for viewing, but if your goal is to print as a contact sheet you could just use a label layout format. best Stuart
