I can import from my camera into FMP but each photo creates a new record.

I would like to import all the photos on the camera into all the fields in one record.

Is this possible, or do I have to import then manipulate the many records into one?

Cheers,

Greg

Why do you want them in one record? You would be limiting yourself.

For this project, having them all in one record produces the best results.

Still doesnt make too much sense to me because I think that if you made it a related table then you can import all the pictures into that table and have them all display through a portal on one parent page.

Yes that would be possible but I want to display the photos like a contact sheet with about five or six thumbnails per row and about three rows - can that be done with portals?

Yes, it can (and should) be done with portals. There was recently added an excellent little example file by Genx, PhotoManagement, in the Sample Files section of fmforums.

Just as a note.

Genx is great for viewing, but if your goal is to print as a contact sheet you could just use a label layout format.

best
