SMTP for email

Featured Replies

Hi,

I hope I'm posting this in the right category. At the moment we're having a module Mail/fax to send an email, when you send an email however, it goes to your email client and send it through there, is there maybe (plugin / script) that can do this automatically with the right SMTP settings?

I hope someone can help me with that.

Thanks.

Robin

Yes there are a few different plugins for sending email messages. I use one called SMTPit from CNS and it works just fine and I would recommend it. There are other brands as well.

However, you may want to check out a plugin called SmartPill PHP Edition from Scodigo. It can send emails in addition to LOTS of other things. It essentially brings the power of PHP into your Filemaker application.

There is a free video of SmartPill in Action

BTW, I'm not a salesperson for Scodigo, just a customer.

Thank you very much, I'll be looking into those plugins, although I've been looking into them briefly. But they are all to complicated for what I need it for. Maby it's easier to script it myself, isn't it? I would just need to login to my SMTP server, send the email, and that's all I need actually. What do you think, should I still buy it? Because I'm using it in a network of 5 computer, the price will get up a lot.

Thanks

Robin
