Do Tabs only work on a MAC? Or only with versions fm8 and above? Please clarify exactly what is going on since I just looked at something I did on someone's PC and none of the tabs were there. I would like to get an idea of what my limits are (whether platform or version) before I go and develop/upgrade my solutions and find out that no one can use them properly.

The tabbing feature was introduced in FM8 so any version before that will not show tabs. all the fields would be on top of each other. It has nothing to do with platform.
