Sorting related field using custom value list?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to sort by a field in a related file by a custom value list?

Thanks,

G

I have not used this, but the example in CDML reference ("Sort Order -sortorder Tag Type Variable"), shows the form action code for -sortorder as ...value="custom=Color List"... . I infer that value represents a value list. Consider that the -sortfield is given "...value="Colors"... in this example.

Yeah I tried that using the following...

&-Sortorder="value=DBname::valulistname"

It did not work. Maybe I should move the valulist to the main file and try again.

sprague,

Notice the difference in placement of your quote marks with the quote marks in the CDML Reference example.

I hope that solves it for you.
