Now i know a number of ways of doing this ... but to be quite honest they all suck.

I'm sure that i am missing something.

I want to hilite the background of current record on a list view but i want to do it with a calculation and not by setting a global field.

Problem is if a user switches to table view (and yes i lock the sidebar) i end up having to do all sorts of gymnastics to keep the current record hilited.

I would also like this to be dynamic. I have worked out everything else in my default interface dynamically but this (although it can be done) seems alot more difficult than it should be.

Bassically i want to do this with a calculation and not a script.

Am i missing something or does anyone have any great techniques that i can take a look at?
