May 4, 200718 yr Hi, This probably is easy, but how do you substitute a quote ? I have tried substiute( field ; """ ; "something else" ) , but that doesn't work. The " stays in there, same goes for ' apostrophe. Any takers ?

May 7, 200718 yr I don't see why platform would be relevant. Most likely these are smart quotes, either entered when the option was on, or pasted from another application. Why don't you copy the character, and paste it into the Substitute() formula? If that doesn't work, post a sample file (just a text field with the problematic text).
May 7, 200718 yr You can create a global, put a quote in it, and then use this field in your SUBSTITUTE.
