Joost Miltenburg Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Hi, This probably is easy, but how do you substitute a quote ? I have tried substiute( field ; """ ; "something else" ) , but that doesn't work. The " stays in there, same goes for ' apostrophe. Any takers ?

comment Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 I don't see why platform would be relevant. Most likely these are smart quotes, either entered when the option was on, or pasted from another application. Why don't you copy the character, and paste it into the Substitute() formula? If that doesn't work, post a sample file (just a text field with the problematic text).
longterm_solutions Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 You can create a global, put a quote in it, and then use this field in your SUBSTITUTE.
