Three fields into one

Featured Replies

I'm trying to get records from three different fields to display under ONE column on a report.

For example, I have three different job titles (PD, AR, ED) which I would like to display under a fourth title, Contact.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

Thanks.

Assuming that I understand what you're talking about, you have two options:

Option 1 = Create a new calculation field result = Field1 & " " & Field2 & " " & Field3

Option 2, use merge fields:

Enter Layout Mode for your report, click once under your column, press ctrl M, choose Field1, don't exit the label, press ctrl M again, choose Field2, press ctrl+M again choose Field3: Should end up with something like:

<> <> <>

Read up on FMP's calculation fields, and specifically about concatenating text fields. (Hint: the ampersand is your friend.)

Just don't ask how to pronounciate "concatenating". ;-)

Lol, but that one got 8 thumbs up vs 7 thumbs down!!!

Joking joking, but for some reason it reminds me a bit of my fair lady: "Well if I was doing it proper, what was you sniggering at? Have I said anything I oughtn't?"
