ABCRobstown Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 When I transfer a FMP v 6 file to FMP Advanced the password used in v 6 is not applicable in Advanced--unable to access full file. Why is this and what do I do? Second question: text colors in FMP 6 are not the same in Advanced. For example RED in FMP 6 come out as light blue in Advanced. What would cause this?
IdealData Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Sounds like you have converted a file. During the conversion the original passwords are carried forward and accounts are crreated with the same password - but in FM 8 the input is now CASE SENSITIVE. So... FM6 password: Password (but you could have used PASSWORD) FM8 user name: Password FM8 password: Password To simplify matters you can also use a blank user name, but must get the upper/lower case entries right in the password. You should read up on the conversion notes as there is far more than this that is affected.
