Quick question...

I am creating a log and wanted to know what to put in the calculation area to get the current date and time... I was initially using a field that I set to display when the record was modified, but I found this date and time to lag slightly...

Any suggestions?

I wanted to use my "date of modification" field as the timestamp, but it lags... it won't update until i've changed records... is there a way to make a field update itself automatically every second?

A Record isn't considered modified until you exit it. However, there shouldn't be a long delay.

Why not post a copy of your file, so we can see what you're trying to accomplish.
