Alternate format files from search page

Is it possible to choose between alternate format files on a search page eg, either -format=file_1.htm or -format=file_2.htm

The choice would need to be made before the search was instigated (ie the "Search" button on the page clicked)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

apply to what you want? you can only state one -format but you can change it's value depending on user input.
