Alternate format files from search page

Greetings from Australia.

Is it possible to choose between alternate format files on a search page eg, either -format=file_1.htm or -format=file_2.htm

The choice would need to be made before the search was instigated (ie the "Search" button on the page clicked)

Any help is greatly appreciated.
