Hi guys,

I'm a new FM user and this is my problem:

I have 10 fields Fibre1, Fibre2, ..., Fibre10

In each field is somthing like this:

20% cotton

70% elathane

10% mettalic fibre

...

I need to put in fields F1, F2, ...F10 these values but from max to min:

F1 = 70% elasthane

F2 = 20% cotton

F3 = 10% mettalic fibre

Do you have any ideea? Please help.

Thanks.

To tell you the truth you look like you have a normalization problem. Meaning that if you have a bunch of fibre fields on a record you probably should make a seperate table to hold the fibre info.

I would create a new table to hold all the fibre records for a give product or whatever it is in your main table. Then you can just add new fibres and precentages to a product. Then when you are done adding fibres you can then sort these records and display them in any way that you would want. (ie. greatest percentage to least, creation order, alphabetical order by name )

I hope this helps

Thanks for the replay, but did'n help me.

These fibres comes from a .txt file, I make some calculations and lookups in filemaker, export and erase.

So, I need a scrips or something for that.

Please HELP. Only ideea. PLEASE.

Thank you !!!

It is very hard to help someone that is using generic field names, and who replies "That didn't Help. Plus, your description of what you are trying to do is a bit fuzzy.

You should tell us what isn't working, or why it doesn't help.

Why not attach a file or files, so that we can see what you are saying, respond specifically to your questions.
