LaurenKuhlman Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I have lots of layouts in my current Filemaker Solution. There is no avoiding it. There are tons of printouts on a weekly basis and just lots of different aspects and functions of the company I am designing for. With that in mind, does anyone have any suggestions for managing the Layout: dropdown on the status bar? It is becoming overwhelmingly long. Thanks in advance.
AudioFreak Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Keep in mind some layouts can be excluded from the list. In layout mode go to Layouts>layout Set up and check or uncheck the box to display that layout. We have quite a few layouts here that the user cannot even navigate to. But the layout is called in a script to print a specific form. Michael
Jason Mundok Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 There are a few things that I do to manage layouts in my solutions: - Create blank layouts named with only a hyphen, which will create a spacer line in the layout list. Put spacers between groups of layouts. - Allow access to layouts via privilege set. If a user logs in with a priv set that doesn't have access to the layout, it will not show up in the layout menu.
