xyz3 Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Is there anyway in Filemaker Pro 8.5 to set the row color to alternate colors when in Table view? Thanks- Nate
Ender Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 In the Body part definition, use the Alternate Background Fill option, and choose a color/pattern.
xyz3 Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 That works great in List view, but does not work in Table view.
Tori Mitchell Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) Redacted. Ender is quite right. Edited August 14, 2007 by Guest
Ender Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 That works great in List view, but does not work in Table view. Works fine for me.
LaRetta Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) Must select Part setup then select Body and at the bottom ... It works if the field FILL is transparent - just as it would work for any field on any layout. Could that be your situation why it doesn't show? You don't have the field as transparent fill? xyz3 Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Uhg. Had all fields set to have a color which overlaid the alternate color. / Is there was a way to set the transparency levels of color, so the field could be colored, but still show the alternate row colors? Thanks for the help everyone!
LaRetta Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 (edited) Is there was a way to set the transparency levels of color, so the field could be colored, but still show the alternate row colors? As Mike says, not with table layout. IIRC, you'll need to place a png file behind the field into the body and table layout won't allow it because it can't display pictures (or even buttons). You'll need an image program which can create transparent/translucent images. Then you'll Insert Picture and resize the rectangle onto the body of the List layout. The effect is very cool ... but it will flash quite a bit on Windows; particularly with many fields on top of the image and with many records. UPDATE: Save image as PNG, I think. But you'll still have to have the FIELDS transparent and simply place the image the size of the field and BEHIND the fields. Not worth it, in my opinion,. LaRetta Edited August 15, 2007 by Guest
