Brett W Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 (edited) Hi everyone, I am also have an issue with the PHP Test files and Site Assistant. The Test IWP, Test PHP, and Test XSLT all are not functioning properly, saying that it FM encounters an error - "The requested resource (/:/192.168.1.38/fmi/iwp/cgi) is not available". When manually entering the URL, I can reach the IWP Site with the database references, but the links report that the page says: databases are unavailable. The file is hosted and has the correct user privileges. The test files in the pre-installed locations, the FMS 9 Adv is enabled to use all the extended privileges, and Apache/Web Server is on. I have the firewall completely open, so I know this is not a Port issue (and yes, I will close that up once I figure this out). Any suggestions? PS: OSX, 10.4.10 FMS 9 ADV Edited August 22, 2007 by Guest system info
IdealData Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Hi Brett Please see my topic http://fmforums.com/forum/showpost.php?post/263852/ Please let me know if you make any advances. Thanks
IdealData Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Did you change the web publishing port during FMS install? Your target URL will need to reflect this. Do you have FileMaker PRO running on the server machine? If FMP is running then the web component may fail to start in FMS.
Brett W Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 I did not change the WEP port during installation, should be default at port 80 correct? FYI, I have the ports all open. Where would I change the target URL for the FM test page? I do have FMP 9 ADV installed on the server machine as well as the FMS 9 ADV. Why would this hinder the web component from starting? Do you recommend uninstalling it?
IdealData Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 WEP? That's normaly Wireless Encryption Protocol - not part of this subject (I think). Both FMS and FMP can host files for web, but both use the same port (5003) so only one can be running at a time. There's no problem runing FMP on the same machine as FMS, albeit not recommended, but you will be denied web publishing capability in one or the other. FMS simply won't start if FMP is sharing already, however FMP will report that it cannot start web publishing due to another instance of FM web sharing already running. Uninstalling is not necessary. If you are running your browser on the server machine then try 127.0.0.1 or "localhost"

boley Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 (edited) I had the same problem. There may be a solution here for others who run into it. Initially I had turned on SSL when I configured the server. I tried turning it off. No change. I tried restarting the server, opening and closing dbs ... lots of other things. The last thing I did was to choose the "Edit Server Deployment" Link on the FileMaker Server Overview page of the FileMaker Server Admin Console. This seemed to reinstall the web publishing engine. Now the Test pages work. I'm not sure that enabling the SSL was the problem but it was the one thing I did that probably wasn't a default setting.
