Buzz Posted November 20, 2001 Posted November 20, 2001 Thanks Cyber, The PC link worked. However, the Mac link did not since FMPro no longer supports it. Since I use a Mac, can anyone else give some suggestions?
The Bridge Posted November 20, 2001 Posted November 20, 2001 Well, it's not a WYSIWYG editor, but PageSpinner 3+ allows you to enter CDML tags via menus. They are broken down into functional categories, i.e. form elements, link elements, replacement tags, etc.
Vaughan Posted November 20, 2001 Posted November 20, 2001 Somebody posted a plug-in for Dreamweaver 4 that displays the CDML codes as little boxes, but it does not display the records, portals and IFs the same nested way that HP3 does (or did). but it's better than nothing. Do a search in the forums, keywork Dreamweaver might find it.
Buzz Posted November 21, 2001 Author Posted November 21, 2001 I'm wanting to generate CDML on the fly and then study the reference manual in depth at a later time. Does anyone know where I can get a download Homepage 3.0 since it's no longer available? I understand that this is the only thing out there that generates CDML in an editor. I use Dreamweaver but there is really nothing out there except MacTherapy's CDML tags for Dreamweaver.
CyberSport Posted November 21, 2001 Posted November 21, 2001 Hey. Here's the PC site: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/axel_jacob/htmlnews.htm and here's the Mac site: ftp://ftp3.filemaker.com/pub/USA-Macintosh/Trial_Software/ClarisHomePage3.bin As I think I wrote before, just delete the preferences from the mac copy and the trial copy doesn't expire....but I didn't tell you that.
Buzz Posted November 21, 2001 Author Posted November 21, 2001 Bridge, Thanks for the "heads-up" on PageSpinner. I downloaded the trial version and this looks like what I need. I'll just cut and paste the code into Dreamweaver (I like WYSIWYG editors). Too bad Dreamweaver doesn't do this.

Funny, I used to do most of my web design in Dreamweaver, but I had to manually fix the HTML (and subsequently CDML) so often that I've switched back to hand-coding everything. Go figure.
Anatoli Posted November 22, 2001 Posted November 22, 2001 I am working without problems in GoLive with CDML. I admit -- I am heavy against Dreamweaver. To be fair, GoLive crashes on some users, not so much on my machines.
CyberSport Posted November 26, 2001 Posted November 26, 2001 Re: mac version of home page: Here's another link. If it doesn't work, just go to the tucows.com web site. http://epix.mac.tucows.com/adnload/206161_84128.html Maybe it's my lack of design sense that lets me accomplish so much with just this software and then tweak things as necessary w/ dreamweaver (e.g,, much better find/replace and site upload) Bevin
