playing sound and I the get the spinning beach ball

Featured Replies

Hi here

I just added a feature to record sound in my data base and when played I get the spinning beach ball, (it stops when the sound stops playing)

has any one had this before and is it problem? the program does not crash....

also will adding sound to the database make it large and the database unstable?

cheers D

bump?

Hi well I haven't had much experience in this area but I could give you my ideas, I also have the beach ball when playing my sound.

however I believe its perfectly fine because when you record your sound(im assuming your using a container field) it uses the operating system to record the sound. Imovie '07 used this same recording window, its has changed in Imovie '08.

So I believe because it uses the OS to record it, and the beach ball is obviously the OS loading time thingy lol and not filemakers which is the apple period, that its perfectly fine and is intended to work like that.

But that's just my thoughts.
