September 12, 200718 yr I'll try and give the info you need to know without getting too detailed with all this. I have a tabled called Products. I also have a table called Scans which is related to Products by ItemNumber. These tables are actually located in 2 different FM files. I have a Products layout that includes a Portal listing the related Scan records. Again, Scans is related by ItemNumber so it lists all scan records with the same ItemNumber as the current Product record, just as expected. Now, I need to make another table occurance of Scans related by ItemNumber and 1 other field also. So the first thing I did was create a new table occurance called ScansInStock. I then added the same exact relationship as Scans has, which is Item_Number -> ItemNumber as you can see in the screenshots provided below: This is Scans: http://www.dealexpress.com/temp/Scans.jpg This is ScansInStock: http://www.dealexpress.com/temp/ScansInStock.jpg As you can see they're both coming from the file Purchase Order Items and are using the table Scans. They are both related to Products by ItemNumber the same way. However, ScansInStock is giving me a list of the same Scan item over-and-over, where Scans gives me each related item in a list like I want. Here's another screenshot to show what I mean: http://www.dealexpress.com/temp/Products.jpg On the left side you can see the Scans portal which is correctly displaying 2 different related Scan records. On the right side you see the same portal accept that it's pulling from the ScansInStock table. It's listing the same ScanID twice. Again, if you look at the screenshots you can see that teh table occurances come from the same file, same table, and are related to Products on the same field. Why in the heck are they giving me different values? What is wrong with ScansInStock??? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I've been pulling my hair out over this for hours. Thanks!
September 12, 200718 yr Sounds like the fields in the ScansInStock portal are fields from the Scans table occurrence.
September 13, 200718 yr Author You are exactly right. I was copying that portal and changing the TO it was using, but not the fields inside it. Doh! Thanks for opening my eyes!
