habitude Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Is it possible to search a hard drive for files (ex: *.mp3, music files), and create a record containing the file name, database path, etc, for each file found?
normanicus Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 I did this long ago on a Mac - so long ago that I can't remember how I did it. I think I used Applescript to gather all the folder and file names, then imported the text file and created a record for each item. I also got the icons for each application and put that in a container field. Clicking this would open the file with the right app. Should all be much easier now. Sorry I no longer have the files as it was a couple of computers ago I did this and it never got used for the customer. Hope the knowledge that it is possible spurs you on, Norman
