Slobey Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Hi gang, This may seem like a dumb question, but am I correct in assuming that in order to receive email notifications on schedules that the server has to be setup with an email program of it's own and doesn't use any built in one from FM Server? I am trying to set up my SMTP and it's failing the test. I am using FM Server 9 Thanks Mike
xochi Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 No email program needed. It sends mail directly to your SMTP server. However, it seems buggy -- although I can get the "test" button to work fine, no other emails are being sent.
xochi Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Apparently if you turn OFF the FM Server and Web Engine auto-start "General Settings/Auto Start", this breaks auto email notification. Solution: turn them back on, reboot, and then remember to deal with the issues of having the server daemons auto starting (mainly, be careful rebooting after a crash).
