Matt_ Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Hi, I'm trying to create a portal to display a list of jobs... I thought this would be easy since I've already created some more complicated portals in my solution. The layout I'm using is set to the Employees table. It has a few fields in it (Employee ID, Employee Name, etc.) I want the portal to display a list of all records from the Jobs table (Job ID, Job Name, Customer, etc.) This should be an easy one... how do I set this relationship up? Cheers!
FestiveEmbalmer Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I believe you are looking for a non-equijoin relationship between the tables. The operator for a relationship that shows all records in a related table is "X".
Matt_ Posted October 18, 2007 Author Posted October 18, 2007 If I remember correctly, it doesn't matter which fields I join, right? I joined the JobID field with the EmployeeID field with an "X" relationship. All that happens now is that the portal repeats the same thing over and over again... any ideas?
comment Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 That usually happens when the fields in the portal are not from the same TO that the portal is based upon.
FestiveEmbalmer Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I suffered from this affliction! Switching to the Anchor-Buoy graph method helped me to properly identify fields from the appropriate TOs.
