List View problem (FM8/Win2K)

This layout displays fine in FMP 8.0v3 / Mac OS X 10.4, but not on Win2K. I'm just attaching a screen capture in the hopes that the problem will be familiar to someone. Will provide pixel-precision details if needed.

It appears to be somehow related to the calculated container field that lies behind the text ("Cash"), which turns green to denote the current sort column. But I have tried shrinking that field drastically, as a debugging measure, and there is still about 1-1/2 cells-worth of graphic plastered over the footer of my layout.

This bug was solved in 8.5, but remains in all FM8 versions.

Can anyone tell me what causes the problem, and what workarounds have been used?

I've searched the archives for other mentions of this problem but haven't found any.
