Hey Everyone,

Has anyone tried a wireless barcode scanner solution? I was wondering how it would interface with FMP. The information is stored in the gun and when you dump the data, does it create a new record in FMP for each scan? I really need a solution that is mobile in that way. The second option is to look into some mobile palm device with FMP mobile, however, I hear they are discontinuing that product line. Any ideas?

I myself would stay away from the palm device for one main reason. Synching can be a pain. We use this in our inventory area. Works great and less troublesome compared to a palm, which we also tried

Can be programmed to tab to next field, run scripts, etc.....

So how exactly do yo get the data off the gun and imported to create multiple records?

I know you said it was programmable, but to add tabs, returns, or whatever, but that wouldn't make a new record on the import would it?

Thanks again, V

Sorry for the late reply. The scanner can be programmed to do tabs and also ctrl+1 etc which will perform a FM script that makes the new record. The scanner is wireless, no need to sync or import. It scans and creates in realtime.
