Merit Solutions Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I am trying to set a Print step within a loop that prints the current record rather than the found set. Unfortunately when I configure the Print settings and select Print Current Record, as soon as I close the Print settings dialogue it reverts back to Print Records Being Browsed which is screwing up my script. How do I lock the settings. Please Help! I am using a Brother HL1650 printer.
bcooney Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I've experienced many printing issues, especially restoring print settings. So, I'm not surprised that you're having problems (check FMI's Knowledge base for some print related bugs/workarounds). A workaround would be to isolate the record so that you don't care whether it's Current Record or Recs being Browsed. You could use gtrr, or showall, omit, show omitted.
Merit Solutions Posted December 8, 2007 Author Posted December 8, 2007 That would be very clunky in this situation...I need the found set to be maintained. Isolating the record depends on omitting the current record and then showing the omitted only. What happens once that record is printed? How do I get back to the original found set? If I chose Find Omitted again...it will show me ALL records (less the current one) - not the last found set! I can't believe there are bugs in FileMaker!!
bcooney Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 (edited) Do the gtrr in a new window, print, then close the window. btw, yes there are some bugs in FM, but this isn't one of them. Find Omitted "flips" the found set btw found and omitted, which is expected behavior. So, one way to do something without "losing" your found set, is to open a new window.
