simple imports that don't replace existing data

Greetings

I am trying to add data from duplicate filemaker files. When I do this it erased the existing data, I want to add data from one file without losing what is in the receiving file.

Importing has various options. You can update the current records, update the current records based on a field match etc.

You need to specify ADD records.

Hi Thanks for your response.

I have FM 5.5, when I select import i dont see an add option

Try

Menu Bar >> File >> Import >> File >> (select the file) >> Open

This should give you the Import Mapping Window, and in the lower bottom, the feature discussed.
