Hi

Still learning the FM ropes any advice would be much appreciated.

I have a layout where users perform a find on a date range from a custom input dialog.

I need to go to another layout from here keeping the same date range, how would I do that?

Many Thanks

Hi Carrie,

We need more information of exactly what you are doing before we can provide specific answers. Is this all within the same file? Table? It sounds like you are capturing the dates in globals to use within the Custom Dialog? If so, the globals can be used again. Otherwise, you can use variables.

How will you be using those dates the second time? Understanding the context and purpose * is important.

* yes, Michael, Soren and I have BOTH stolen your phrase. :wink2:

Thanks, More Info:

Both layouts are based on the same table.

In Layout 1 users are asked to enter the date range of info they want. They just enter date1...date2 in a custon dialog. When they've finished making their adjustments in that layout, I need to send those records (i.e. that Group name and date range to another layout for printing.)

At the moment I store the group name in a variable from layout 1 and setfield for that variable for that group in Layout 2. I don't know how to do that for the date range of the records they were browsing.

Do you need to know any other details?
