Web form workshop registration with IWP

Hi everyone.

I am having some difficulty implementing our (simple) workshops registration with FM via IWP.

I have a Workshops table with 20 workshops to be attended by a mix of 300 individuals. I'd like to use IWP to mimic a Web form where each individual enters his/her name and email address, and clicks a checkbox (presses a button, something) to select the workshops that he/she would like to attend.

My problem is knowing how to selectively display the "available" Workshops records for the workshops that are still available (i.e. not full and date not passed). Not only do I need to publish this dynamic list via IWP but I need to capture the particular workshops selected by the Web user (and associate the selected workshops with the individual in question). Web users will be FM guest accounts.

It seems like I need to use a layout with a selection filtered portal to show the available workshops and scripts/portal buttons but I don't know how to do that or if that is *the* only way to do it.

Is there an easier or better way?
