Making the db multi-user friendly

Featured Replies

I have a stable working database that 1 person uses.... I would like (and need to) make it a multi-user database for contracts. I plan to serve it using FMSA 8.0- which is already up and running.

What do I have to pay close attention to during this transition? I plan to do extensive testing and fixing before we go live, but any help, tips, advice would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The biggest thing that I overlooked as a multi-user virgin was record marking. As a single user I would mark a found set with an 'x' and then use a relationship to 'see' this found set.

This is a big no-no as each user will be marking different records and mixing up the 'sets'. Look up multi line keys using a global field so that each user can have their own 'marked' set

Biggest lesson I ever learned that one!
