Create a .ics file (iCal Event) to email to other recipients

Featured Replies

Greetings All!

Does anyone know how to create a .ics file from within FileMaker? I want to add this as an email attachment to be sent to x number of recipients.

I have found an awesome free script by Jonathan Stark which adds an iCal event directly into your iCal but I am uncertain of the next step where I would like to share the event with others.

Jonathan's script can be found at http://jonathanstark.com/downloads.php

Any help with the above would be greatly appreciated!

Did you know that you can share events from within iCal, and choose who you want to participate in the even by dragging the names from your Address Book on the Mac?

You can also create events in iCal using the Script that you pointed, there was a demo file that I downloaded with the script, did you get that too. If so, examin the file, and the script, and I think you will catch on what you need to do with your own file.

SeedCode, one of our sponsors, has some templates available for download (see link at the top of your Browser Page. Among them are two files, one of them is v5/6 called iCal Filter, and the other one is a PDF directed at v7 called CC iCal Subscribe.pdf.

Try a search for iCal, and you will see a lot more on this topic.
