UpNorth Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I would greatly appreciate anyones input on this issue I'm having... I have multiple layouts using the save record as a pdf which uses the email option. The user that creates the PDF can view it just fine, but when it's emailed it's a different story. Here is a list of the issues: -Windows based machine can't view the pdf -Windows based machine can't print pdf -Leopard based machine has a weird font that you can't read. -Tiger based machine can view the pdf, but it crashes the viewer shortly after it's open. The font I'm using is Verdana Thanks you for reading this post and I look forward to hearing some ideas :
redballoon Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I have used the same method and it works fine, I'm not sure what could be going wrong for you.
bcooney Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Is this all from one client? Could you have a corrupted font on this client? I'd try a little demo db with a different font, just to see if this client can make a good pdf.
UpNorth Posted January 19, 2008 Author Posted January 19, 2008 I did look at my layouts a little better and one of them (the one that the windows machines were having problems with) did have some custom fonts that I changed to Verdana. No errors yet, so hopefully that is the fix for that one. I find it weird that the work around I had them doing (Mac based machine - using the print pdf and then just attaching it to an email) while I was looking into the issue wasn't causing the same problems... it was working great??? I think the font was for sure causing some of the problems, but I have a feeling there is something else that is going to be showing it's evil head sometime when I least want it to.... until then thanks for your help and I will keep you posted :
