October 25, 200025 yr Can anyone enlighten me on this subject. I am trying to introduce a field with value list as check boxes - the first checkbox needs to be checked by default but i cannot seem to be able to figure out how this is done. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
October 25, 200025 yr Create your field, then create the value list. Now go back into Define Fields and select the field and options. Under the Auto Enter Tab select data and enter the value of the item on the value you want selected. Now when you create a new record the item should be selected. HTH
October 25, 200025 yr Author This doesn't seem to automatically check the checkbox. I can't see what i may be doing wrong, this is seriously annoying.
October 25, 200025 yr Make sure the value you auto-enter is EXACTLY the same as the value in the value list. Also, this will not cause the proper box to be checked in records already created, just in new records. Also, you can double-check to see if the auto-enter function is working by checking the "Include Other..." box in the Field Format. That way, if anything is being auto-entered, at least that box will be checked. Then you can click on that box to see just exactly what's being entered. HTH, Dan
