mosessmith Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Is it possible to set up a layout to change based on a logical calculation? For instance, if I had a field that displayed either a "Y" or an "N" and I wanted the layout to make the field's text green if it was a "Y" and red if it was an "N"? Does that make sense?
Vaughan Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 FMP 9.0's conditional formatting can do this. It can also be done in FMP 7 to 8.5 with a calculation field using the text formatting functions.
Lee Smith Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 This topic comes up from time to time. Have you tried doing a search for +Text +Format +Calculation? I can not tell what version you are using today, so you might not be able to use the Custom Format for this, but the other options are open to you. Start with this thread Here and hopefully we will get the missing Profile Information back on line soon. Lee
mosessmith Posted January 28, 2008 Author Posted January 28, 2008 Thanks, text formatting is what I needed. Couldn't find it for some reason...
_henry_ Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Hello mosessmith, I attached a sample of using it. Please right click on the field "Last Name" and choose "Conditional Formatting." Hope this helps... test.zip
Lee Smith Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Hi henry, mosessmith is using v8.5, the Conditional Formatting is a v9 feature. i.e., it isn't available to them. Lee
_henry_ Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Thanks Lee for the info. Well, if that's so, he can use text formatting then...
