Integration with Constant Contact

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'd like to use my FMP data (8.5)a simple email list with the Constant Contact interface. I haven't done anything like this before, but I've heard there is a CC API which allows the information about the email (Subscribe/unsubscribe/bounce etc) to work with my dataset if I can figure out how to implement it locally on our webserver. Has anyone done this? Would you recommend it? I think the churn on the emails the first time might be a few hundred, so its not a big deal, I'd just like to get on the right track.

If this is the wrong forum for this question sorry!

I don't think this is the right forum, but I'll try to help anyway.

Constant Contact (CC) does have a nice API that allows you to add and remove subscribers. If you are familiar with PHP, there's a PHP class that James Benson has provided that you should check out: http://www.jamesbenson.net/projects/ConstantContact/

You might want to try using that PHP class along with Scodigo's SmartPill PHP Edition plug-in to fully automate things between FileMaker and CC.

You mentioned in your post that you are running on FileMaker 8.5. Another option might be to use the Web Viewer to interact with the API.

Hope this helps!
