Ralph Schwegler
i found an anoying issue with MacOS X 10.5 and FileMaker Pro 6.0v4: printing for instance an OCR-B invoice directly to the printer doesn't work. i have to do a pdf, then print that pdf. this is quite annoying... i tried with two instances of OCR-B. one of which was bought on the linotype. the other one was the "OCR-B New Abacus" font. Any hint on this one?
Lee Smith
v6 is not supported by OS
Ralph Schwegler
i was speaking of FileMaker Pro 6.0v4 running on MacOS X 10.5.2. what did you mean / understand ?
Lee Smith
I understand that you are using 10.5, a.k.a. Leopard, and that FileMaker does not support v6 in Leopard. Did your problem exist on Tiger? I'm not familiar with the Fonts you describe, but if these problems are new since you upgraded to Leopard, it might be that the Fonts are Not Installed, check the Fonts with the Font Book application. Since v6 isn't support under Leopard, this might be one of the problems. Lee
Ralph Schwegler
lee, thank you for you answers! is there a statement from filemaker about incompatibilities with leopard? or is it just "not supported" ? no, the problem does not happen with tiger. the fonts are working ok, for instance no problem with microsoft office or FileMaker 9. Newbies phripley Posted February 28, 2008 Newbies Share Posted February 28, 2008 (edited) Ralph I am having a similar problem. Using Filemaker 6 under 10.5.2 with a font called "Perpetua". All was well under 10.4 I too can print to PDF and get the font as expected, but when I print directly to either my HP 4600 or HP 4650 I get font substitution. I can print the same font directly to the printer from Word 2004 and get the font rendered correctly. Have the same problem on a aluminum intel iMac and a iMac G5. Both worked fine under 10.4. Both show substitution with 10.5 Edited February 28, 2008 by Guest added some more info
