I have a portal with records in it. In each record I have a date field. All I want to do is a basic find search to show all 2007 year's information. Filtering out 2008. I tried range... , =2007 nothing works. Why not? What am I doing wrong? A search should work in a portal should it not? Help

Try to enter "wildcards" in this webpages search-box:

A search should work in a portal should it not?

Yes, it should - but probably not the way you think it does. If you search in a portal field, you will find all parent records that have children that meet the search criteria. The portal of each found record will continue to show ALL RELATED child records.

IOW, the portal contents are unaffected by any search you perform. If you want to filter what's shown in the portal, you have to filter the relationship.
