: Hi folks.... can you help me...how do I perform a NOT query using FileMaker Pro?

Would really appreciate some help with this one......

You can omit as part of your find criteria.

To add to what mr_vodka has posted.

Do a search in your User Manual for Omit, or read the Online Help for [color:blue]Finding, sorting, and replacing data > Finding records > Finding records except those matching criteria Link

Maybe I'm missing something, but, when I click add request, enter my criteria, and go back to add requests, 'OMIT' is not a choice. It doesn't even show in the menu grayed out.

It is a checkbox on the sidebar

Ah, I keep my sidebar closed in my application. Any other way around it?

Script?

You can create a button that does the omit. :-)

Scripted or just a menu choice when creating the button? If from script step which one? Omit Record or Omit Multiple Records?

Hi Al,

If it is part of your script then you would just use Omit []

Enter Find Mode []

Set Field [ Color; "Blue" ]

Omit Record

Perform Find []

If it is not a part of a script what I was saying in the previous post is that a developer can put a button that mimicks the checkbox of Omit.

If you watched this while stepping through Debuggger with the status area open, you would see that it checks the omit checkbox in the status area as part of the script.
