Error with SCChooseFile

Featured Replies

When I call the function SCChooseFile(), I keep getting an error:

"Java.lang.Error: Cannot call invokeAndWait from the event dispatcher thread"

What does this mean? How do I fix it?

This is happening in the SuperContainer Example file as well as in my own file.

I'm running OS X 10.4.11; Filemaker 9; SC as independent server in Demo mode (buying it real soon); java 1.5.0_13

Is there a guide to the errors like this one?

Thanks,

Gary

Further information: The Configuration dialog for the Plugin does not work. Not all plugins have config in FM Prefs->Plugins. But the docs for SuperContainer Plugin Companion say:

After FileMaker starts up with the plugin installed, open FileMaker preferences, click on the Plug-ins tab, select the plugin from the list, and click the Configure button. Enter your license key and company name in this dialog. You will only need to do this once on a given machine

Might this be related to the one function not working?

This is now with a registered, paid up copy of SC. Also, I reinstalled the plugin from a fresh download. FM Pro Advanced 9.0v3

Hi Gary, thanks for reporting this problem. I just posted a new build; version 1.855 which fixes this problem.

In case you're curious, this was due to a new feature that we added to our FTPeek plugin to support progress bars for FTP uploads - it shares some code with SuperContainer, and had some unintended side effects.
