msaier Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I'm trying to write a script that will confirm that several fields are not empty before a print. I am sure this is simple but i am hitting a wall. any help would be apreciated.
Lee Smith Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 (edited) In v6, you should Preform the find manually, and then use the Find in a Script for future use. I don't see a skill level, so here is some basic information. In FileMaker, the equal sign entered into a field in Find Mode, will find all record that have no data in that field. You are not clear as to whether, or not these are the same field, or several fields. And whether, or not they are the same file.. I'll presume that there are several fields, and you want an or search (i.e. any one of the fields being empty is reason to Omit them? Enter Find Mode Enter = in your first field, and select OMIT option. New Record Request Enter = in your Next field, and select OMIT option. New Record Request Enter = in your Next field, and select OMIT option. etc. click on the Find Button If on the other hand, you want to AND find, then it is only one Request, with the = in each of the desire fields, and then select the Omit option for the Find. If you need additional help, let me know. Lee Edited April 23, 2008 by Guest
