Answers Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) This filemaker database for our classified advertising has been in use for years. Every week we export the ads to a text file, that puts style codes (or tags) and when the art department gets it they place it in their template and it formats with the right style, size etc... by reading those codes. Now we are using FM 9, they have InDesign and those codes don't work anymore. Is there anyway to maintain formatting when we export the text or have it create a RTF file? Any suggestions, maybe there's a plugin? Edited May 15, 2008 by Guest
Fitch Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 What kind of style codes are we talking about? (Xtags? An Xtags plugin is available for InDesign.) How are you generating the codes? Are you saying you can style text and it automatically tags the text? I think there was an old FileMaker plugin that did that. No, you cannot maintain formatting when exporting to a text file. FileMaker does have a GetAsCSS function you could explore. RTF could be an option, using XSLT.
