mleiser Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I have a starnge issue with one workstation running fmp9. It's directly connected to a lexmark 640 b/w printer. Almost everytime we do a print, it prints but also shuts down the fm application?? ANyone ever hear anything like this? Mike
bcooney Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Any chance we can see the script? I'm thinking that there must be a Close Window step in there that isn't needed.
mleiser Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 I know it's been a while since I originally sent this, but the problem is inconsistent. Arbitrarily, when printing, the report does print and then the application bombs. This is without a script, just going to the print command. I switched the locally connected printer to being a networked printer and it still happens. Anyone hear about a similar fluke? Mike
bdam Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 We haven't been able to run FM9 in our Citrix environment for this very reason. They someohow managed to make printing even worse in the new version. Your best bet is to call up FM support and start a support case.
Newbies dwlawhorn Posted July 18, 2008 Newbies Posted July 18, 2008 I've had the same problem. I just installed FMpro9 on three identical new imacs. The application works perfectly on two of them. On this machine the FMpro9 app closes when the print button is clicked. The items print. But the app closes. I reloaded the application on this machine. Any clues as to why this happens or what can be done? David
bdam Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 In my experience, there's nothing you can do. If you're 'lucky' enough to have it happen every time then start a $45 flat fee service call with FM. If it's a bug in their code you won't be charged.
mleiser Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 At least I can stop looking for a psychiatrist. I thought it was only by us. It still happens and it's still arbitrary. If anyone figures this one out, please let us all know. Mike
