ggh Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I want users to be able to delete records from a portal which is on a tab panel. The delete button also does some checking for certain situations with the related records. When the script is complete and the user is returned to the original layout the 1st tab is always reactivated. I get why it does this, the question is how to ensure the user is brought back to the original layout and tab. Right now I've got a script written to take the user from the 1st tab to the original tab. I know this is a kludge! Suggestions for the RIGHT way to do this. I put up a screen shot of the script as is.
mr_vodka Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 First please update your profile. Tab Panels were not around in FM7. Also, if you open a new window off the screen, do what you have to do, and then close it, your current window will keep its tab... Otherwise, when you leave a layout, it will go back to your default tab. You can capture what the current tab is and get back to it but again the method will differ depending on which version you have of FileMaker.
ggh Posted June 27, 2008 Author Posted June 27, 2008 Thanks for the update reminder...done. This portion of the database will be IWP. Sorry I wasn't more specific.
Fitch Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Try these (not sure how well they translate to IWP): Restoring Active Tab State Capture and Restore the Active Tabs Tab-Meister
