Expand a comment field when printing

Featured Replies

I want to be able to type as much info as I want in a comment field. I want the field to expand down the page [automatically] to fit the amount typed.

I can ge the field to contract easily enough using sliding/printing but can't figure out how to get the field to expand.

Have you tried making the field as large as might be necessary and then applying sliding/printing to it.

It should then become as large or as small as is necessary

This works great on forms with 1 record. The form I am developing has multiple rows in order to show several records at a time. This technique reduces the number of records displayed on the form.

If using this technique is the only solution, I will create a new layout just to be used for printing.

Thanks for your input.

Yes, that's the best way: a layout optimised for screen viewing, and another optimised for printing. (I also have another layout optimised for find mode.)

Use custom menus to automate the layout switching when previewing and printing, and you can hide the complexity from the user.
