drrehak Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Hi, I just hooked up another computer in my office. I am running Filemaker Server 9. I cannot see the hosted file from the newly connected PC. If I open the file on the server machine (not using FMS), I can open it using Filemaker Network Sharing. I have disabled all firewalls. see diagram here: http://www.gliffy.com/publish/1458138/ any ideas? please help! thanks in advance. I have racked my brain on this for the last 5 hours! -Kevin
Steven H. Blackwell Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Check number of files allowed to be hosted. Also, check that you did [color:red]not tell the file not to display its name in the Open Remote. Steven
drrehak Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 FMS is set to allow 15 FMP connections (I have maybe 4-5 users max connected at anytime) File is visible in Open Remote dialog for other computers. so I don't think that's the problem.
drrehak Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 this morning its working fine! I'm not sure what did it. I changed the number of allowed users from 10 to 15. maybe this forced some sort of update, or re-recognition of it. don't know. the take home is, if you're at your office until 1:30am trying to connect to your server. go home, get some sleep, and try again in the morning. : -Kevin
