I'm not really experienced with Filemaker Server, but i'm planning to complete a large project with it, but i'm still uncertain about what it's really capable of.

Could Filemaker Server 9 Advanced be used to make something like this (using the php publishing, i'm thinking)

Yes; but you don't need Server Advanced for PHP publishing.
