Hi, can anyone tell me if in FM5 you can enter non roman characters, such as Japanese?

I've not tried this specifically with FM entry, but on the Mac (you used a Mac logo in this post) you should be able to use the Apple Japanese Language Kit to enter into mostly any application. -bd

What about on the PC? Is there a way of inputting Japanese characters into a PC version of Filemaker?

I'd talk to Microsoft. Language kits are generally a function of the operating system and not of any application per se. The ultimate would be to use a "J" version of windows and FM, depending upon how far you wish to push the use of Japanese.
