Newbies Wm. Cerniuk Posted July 18, 2008 Newbies Posted July 18, 2008 Stumped at trying to provide a scrolling static text. The requirement is that it must show the scroll bar indicating there is text below the edge of the container regardless of what field the user happens to have in focus. (aka works like a normal web or application interface). This is instructional information and not a "field". I cannot be entered or edited per requirements. I am probably making this too hard but any clues are appreciated.
Newbies Wm. Cerniuk Posted July 19, 2008 Author Newbies Posted July 19, 2008 yes, version 8.5 Advanced. The best I can seem to do with native FMP is to make it a scrolling global field but it requires entry... a no-go
Fitch Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 I suppose you could always slap a scroll bar graphic on the layout next to the field. If you want to be fancy you could have the graphic in a calculated container field so you could show different states depending on the amount of text in the field.
comment Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Version 8.5 is not the same as 8. For one thing, it has the web viewer feature which would seem to be the solution to your problem.
comment Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Something like this? Keep in mind that version 8.5 on Windows is rather limited in the number of characters it can display using this method - see: http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/194029/ Though you could display an external HTML document just as well. instructionsWV.fp7.zip
Raybaudi Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Hi comment a little modification only to let know to windows users ( FM9 ) that now it's possible to eliminate borders of WV even on windows. WV_wo_borders.zip
