Gregory_I Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I have been importing .jpeg files into container fields as a file reference. I have approx 13k jpegs. I am adding .jpeg files to this folder on a regular basis. Is there anyway to import only the new .jpeg files without filemaker individually importing all 13k photos? It takes filemaker an incredibly long time to analyze that many pictures when importing. Is it possible for filemaker to import based on file date? maybe with a calculation?
mr_vodka Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Why dont you import the images from a staging directory folder. Then once imported into FM, remove it or execute a catch command to move the files.
Gregory_I Posted July 25, 2008 Author Posted July 25, 2008 That gives me an idea. Since filemaker stores only a referance to the .jpeg location I was thinking I had to keep them in the same folder. I could import the pictures in a staging then move the pictures to my main folder. Then write a script to rename the file location in filemaker after the import and the move. Is this what you were thinking?
